5. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a service provided by Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses what are referred to as 'cookies’. These are text files, which are stored on your computer, and allow how you use our website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie on how you use our website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Analytics cookies are stored subject to Sec 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

Browser Plugins
You can prevent the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser, but we would like to point out that doing so may limit your ability to use all of the features on this website to the full. Downloading and installing the browser plugin available from the link below also allows you to prevent the data the cookie generates on how you use our website (incl. your IP address) from being transferred to Google and Google processing this data: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Objecting to data collection
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the link below. This sets an opt-out cookie, which prevents your data from being collected when you subsequently visit our website: Disabling Google Analytics.

Please visit the Google Privacy Policy at: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en for more information on how to handle Google Analytics user data.

Demographic characteristics in Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the ‘demographic characteristics’ of Google Analytics. As a result, reports may be prepared that contain statements on the age, gender and interests of visitors to the website. This data originates from interest-based advertising from Google and visitor data from third parties. This data cannot be assigned to any one specific person. You can disable this function at any time by changing the ad settings in your Google Account, or generally prohibit Google Analytics from collecting your data as outlined in the section on ‘Objecting to data collection’.

Google Analytics Remarketing
Our websites leverage the features of Google Analytics Remarketing combined with the cross-device capabilities of Google AdWords and DoubleClick. Google Analytics is a service provided by Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

This feature allows the Google Analytics Remarketing ad groups to be linked to the cross-device features of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages, which have been customised to you based on your previous usage and surfing behaviour on one device (e.g. mobile phone), can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

Once you have given your consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account for this purpose. That way, the same personalised advertising messages can appear on any device you sign in to with your Google Account.

To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated IDs from users who are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create audiences for cross-device ad promotion.

You can permanently opt out of cross-device remarketing/targeting by disabling personalised advertising in your Google Account; to do so click on the follow this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The aggregation of the data collected in your Google Account is subject to your consent alone, which you can provide or revoke at Google (Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR). The collection of data for data collection operations that are not merged into your Google Account (e.g. because you do not have a Google Account or have objected to it being merged) take place subject to Sec. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the fact that the website operator has an interest in the anonymous analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.

For more information and the data protection provisions, please see the Google privacy policy at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

Google AdWords und Google Conversion Tracking
This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising programme from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (‘Google”).

We use what is referred to as conversion tracking as part of Google AdWords. When you click on an ad placed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is set. Cookies are small text files which the web browser stores on the user's computer. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages on this website and the cookie has not yet expired, both Google and the website site operator can recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page.

Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. These cookies cannot be tracked through the advertisers' websites. The information gathered using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords advertisers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are informed of the total number of users who clicked on their ad and who were redirected to a conversion tracking tag page. They do not receive any information that personally identifies users however. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can opt out of it by simply disabling the Google Conversion Tracking cookie under User Preferences in your browser. Doing so stops you being included in the conversion tracking statistics.

The storage of conversion cookies takes place subject to Sec. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising.

For more information about Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking, see the Google Privacy Policy at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

You can set your browser to inform you that cookies are being used. You can also enable cookies in individual cases only, enable the acceptance of cookies in specific cases or generally rule out their use altogether and automatically delete them when you close your browser. If you disable cookies, it may limit your ability to use this website to its full extent.
