The Team Leader is responsible for the proper and successful operation of the production line. This involves, supervising and ensuring the smooth operation of all tasks on the line as well as effectively instructing and guiding Production Line /Area Operators working within that line. Constant communication between the Team Leader, area Management and Coordinators, and the operators is seen as the key trait to a successful Team Leader.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Communicate the production plan and targets to the production team
- Assign work to each Production Line /Area Operator
- Liaise with the Area Material Server in order to ensure that the required material and sub-assemblies are available in time
- Liaise with the Area Production Manager in order to ensure that the required human resources are made available to ensure production targets are met
- Ensure proper and clear traceability throughout the line in order to keep the operators accountable and highlight any shortcomings, and take action immediately when required
- Assist the Quality Department with fault-finding activities and root cause analysis
- Report any issues related to health and safety to the Area Production Manager and Health and Safety Officer
- Assist in the implementation of new products and/or production methodologies and/or systems whilst following Lean Production Principles and eliminate waste e.g. motion waste
- Monitor system documentation such as BOM/Routings, Work Instructions, etc. to highlight relevant feedback to required departments
