Seifert Systems has successfully completed the certification process for the UL 508A Industrial Control Panel (ICP) Shop Program. This will now allow us to apply the UL marks for US and Canada to Industrial Control Panels for chillers we develop, design and manufacture. We can now also offer panel design & build services to our customers.
The UL508A ICP program covers all the requirements that allows widespread acceptance by regulatory authorities in every jurisdiction in the US and Canada. It ensures conformance to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) through proper component use, enclosure environmental ratings, wire and motor protection as well as safety markings.
As part of the certification process, Seifert employees underwent mandatory training on the UL508A standard and its application. They were then qualified as UL508A Manufacturer Technical Representatives (MTR). This process must be repeated every 3 years. An Initial Production Inspection (IPI) was successfully performed by a UL representative at Seifert Systems premises in Radevormwald, Germany. Quarterly inspections ensure that the requirements are maintained.”
